About this session: This session will engage nonprofit leaders in a reflective, peer-driven discussion that deepens their understanding of leadership identity, purpose, and networks while emphasizing sustainable and values-aligned leadership practices. This session will foster intentional relationship-building, self-reflection, and practical strategies to enhance leadership effectiveness.

Learning Objectives:
- Identify and Define Core Values: Participants will explore and define the values that guide their leadership, gaining insight into how these principles shape their decisions and influence their teams.
- Clarify Purpose and Motivation: Participants will reflect on their personal purpose, examining how it drives their leadership and enhances their ability to make meaningful contributions to their organization and community.
- Cultivate Self-Restoration Practices: Participants will learn self-care strategies that prioritize well-being, enabling sustained leadership while modeling healthy boundaries and resilience.
- Maximize Network and Relationships: Participants will assess their networks to identify relationships they can strengthen, building a circle of trusted advisors and thought partners who reinforce their values and purpose while opening doors to new opportunities.

About the Presenter: Yusef Garcia, Monarq Advisors, Founder & Principal

Yusef Garcia is the founder and principal of Monarq Advisors, a firm owned by a Latiné and LGBTQIA entrepreneur, dedicated to empowering mission-driven leaders through strategies rooted in values, sustainable growth, and community-centered impact. With more than 20 years of executive experience in nonprofit leadership, institutional fundraising, team development, and governance, Yusef brings expertise in crafting customized strategies that drive organizational success.

His career spans significant roles at WTTW | WFMT, United Way of Metro Chicago, and Forefront, where he led high-impact initiatives, strengthened donor engagement, and advocated for equitable governance. Currently serving as Vice Chair of the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Yusef continues to shape the sector with a commitment to strategic and inclusive leadership. Through Monarq Advisors, he partners with organizations to bridge purpose and impact, offering insights that equip leaders to navigate today’s complex social landscape with confidence and resilience.
