Board Versus Management Responsibilities: Navigating the Grey Area

12:00pm - 1:30pm

ZOOM Webinar: $50 for 1 attendee

About this session:  By design, the board of directors and the chief executive of a nonprofit organization share leadership of the organization. This diffuse leadership structure builds both accountability and sustainability into the leadership model of nonprofits, but sometimes these roles overlap too. So much so, in fact, that it is not uncommon for there to be confusion, tension, and differences in opinion about the appropriate lines of responsibility between the board of directors and the chief executive. In this session, we’ll explore the line of responsibility between CEO and board and provide insights on maintaining a healthy balance.

After this session you will be able to answer these questions with confidence and bring this learning directly to your organization to increase its impact potential.

1. What is the board’s role?
2. What is management’s role?
3. When there is a grey area, who decides? And how?
4. What does a healthy relationship between board and Executive Director look like?

Who Should Participate:  Organization leadership and board members are encouraged to attend as a team!
